The fastest way is the share sheet. In Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or your browser, tap Share and choose Pluck. You can also copy the link and paste it into Pluck, or take a photo of a recipe in a book or magazine. See how Pluck works.

No. Longer videos are processed in the background. Pluck sends you a notification the moment the recipe is ready, even if you closed the app while it worked. Make sure notifications are allowed for Pluck in your phone's settings.

Yes. When a recipe is spread across several images in a slideshow post, Pluck reads all of them and combines them into one recipe.

Yes. Go to Settings → Data → Import Recipes and pick the app you're coming from. Pluck reads exports from Paprika (.paprikarecipes), Mela (.melarecipes), Crouton (.crumb), CopyMeThat (.zip) and any schema.org JSON-LD recipe file. Importing doesn't use your monthly extractions, but imported recipes count toward your plan's saved-recipe limit. Read the full guide to switching apps.

Yes. Tap Share recipe on any recipe to get a clean link. Anyone can open it in a browser without an account, and Pluck users can save their own copy with one tap. The free plan includes 3 shares a month; paid plans are unlimited. Sharing needs a signed-in account rather than guest mode.

Pluck extracts recipes using whatever units the original recipe uses. To convert measurements, open the recipe and tap the AI cooking assistant — just ask it to convert the recipe to metric or imperial and it will do it for you. You can then apply the changes to your saved recipe. The grocery list has its own switch: open the list's menu and choose Metric or As written.

The Pluck app is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Swedish. It follows your phone's language, and you can pick a different one under Settings → App language. Recipes are extracted in the language of the original source. When a recipe is in another language than the app, a Translate chip appears on it: tap it and the AI cooking assistant (paid plans) rewrites the recipe in your language, and you can then apply the changes to your saved recipe.

Pluck shows a confidence score for every extraction so you know how reliable the result is. Recipes with clear, written ingredients and instructions score highest. You can always review and edit the extracted recipe before saving. Learn more about how Pluck works.

Yes. Every recipe in your recipe box is fully editable. You can change the title, ingredients, instructions, servings, cook times, tags, and more at any time.

Yes. Open a recipe and tap Start cooking. Cook mode shows one step at a time in large text, with the ingredients that step uses and timers you can start right from the step. The screen stays awake while you cook, and you can ask the AI cooking assistant about the step you're on.

Yes. Add recipes from your recipe box to the days of your meal plan, and Pluck turns the plan — or any single recipe — into a grocery list grouped by aisle. The free plan covers the current week; paid plans can plan any week and build a grocery list from a whole week's plan.

Yes, on Plus and Pro. Tap Fill my week in the meal plan and Pluck fills the empty days from your own recipe box: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It mixes favourites with recipes you haven't tried yet, skips what you had last week, and pairs dishes that share fresh ingredients so less goes to waste. You review the suggestion, swap or remove anything, and nothing is added to your plan until you accept. Plus includes 8 fills a month and Pro 30, and you need at least 5 saved recipes.

Duplicate ingredients are merged and added up, and everything is sorted by aisle. You can add your own items, tick things off as you shop, see which recipes each item comes from, and switch cups and ounces to metric. To shop together, tap Share list and invite up to 5 people; Share as text sends a plain copy to someone without Pluck. Once built, the list works offline. See a weekly planning routine.

Yes. Open a grocery list, tap Share list and send the invite link. Up to 5 other people can join a list, each with their own Pluck account (a free one is enough, but not guest mode). Everyone can add, edit and tick off items, and changes show up on each phone within seconds; changes made offline sync when you're back online. Sharing a list is free on every plan. Your meal plan and recipe box stay personal.

Yes. Long press a meal in your plan and set the servings for that meal. The grocery list scales from it, and the saved recipe stays unchanged.

Yes. Tap “What can I cook?”, type in what you have on hand, and Pluck shows the recipes in your recipe box you can make with it. Or tap Scan ingredients and take a photo of your fridge or pantry: Pluck spots what's there and fills in the search for you. If nothing you've saved fits, it can create a new recipe from what you have, labelled as AI-created. Typed search is free and unlimited; photo scans are limited per month (1 on Free, 5 on Light, 50 on Plus, 100 on Pro).

Yes. Tap I cooked this on a recipe, or finish it in cook mode, and Pluck counts it. Each recipe shows how many times you've cooked it and when you last made it, and you can sort your recipe box by most cooked or recently cooked.

Yes. Recipe groups let you sort your recipe box your way — “Weeknight dinners”, “Holiday baking”, or anything else. The free plan includes 3 groups; paid plans have unlimited groups.

Instagram does not allow third-party apps to embed or play back their videos. When you save an Instagram Reel or video post, Pluck shows the thumbnail image with a play button overlay — this is what Instagram's API provides. The important thing is that Pluck still extracts the full recipe from the video by analyzing the video frames, audio, and caption during extraction. You get the complete recipe with ingredients and instructions — you just can't replay the original video inside Pluck.

No. Pluck fetches the recipe from the public URL. Private accounts won't work, but any public recipe post, Reel, or Story can be extracted.

Stories with shareable links can be processed. For temporary stories that have expired, take a screenshot and use Pluck's photo extraction feature instead.

Yes! Share a TikTok directly to Pluck or paste the URL. Pluck watches the video, listens to the audio, and reads the description to extract the full recipe — even when the recipe is only spoken or shown on screen. Learn more about TikTok.

Yes. Take a photo of a recipe card, cookbook page, or handwritten recipe and upload it. Or snap a photo of a finished dish — Pluck identifies what it is and generates a best-guess recipe. Learn more.

A video extraction is only counted when it returns a recipe. If a video can't be extracted, it doesn't use up one of your monthly extractions.

No. You can start as a guest and save recipes straight away. Sign in with Apple or Google whenever you like and everything you saved stays with you. A signed-in account is needed to share recipes and to use Pluck on more than one device.

Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play: cancel or change plans in your phone's subscription settings, not by deleting the app. On a new phone, tap Restore Purchases in Pluck's Settings.

Yes. All your saved recipes are available offline once they've been loaded. You can browse, search, and cook from your recipe box without an internet connection.

Yes. Pluck is GDPR and CCPA compliant. Analytics and error tracking are off by default. We never sell your data and AI providers cannot train on it. Read our privacy policy.

You can delete your account from the Settings screen in the app, or visit our account deletion page. To request data deletion without removing your account, use the data deletion page.
