Switch from Paprika to Pluck
Paprika Recipe Manager has served home cooks well since 2010. But the way people discover recipes has changed - Instagram Reels, TikTok cooking videos, and Facebook groups are where the best recipes live now. Pluck is the modern Paprika alternative, built for that world. Here's how to bring your recipe collection with you.
How to export your Paprika recipes
Open Paprika on your desktop
Launch Paprika 3 on your Mac or PC. Desktop export gives you the most control over the file format. On iOS or Android, go to Settings → Export Recipes instead.
Export your recipes
On desktop: go to File → Export and choose Paprika Recipe Format (.paprikarecipes) to include all recipe data. You can also choose HTML if you prefer a readable format.
Save the export file
Save the .paprikarecipes file somewhere accessible - your desktop, Downloads folder, or cloud storage. This file contains all your recipes, categories, and notes.
Import into Pluck
Pluck's recipe import feature is in development. Once available, you'll be able to upload your Paprika export file directly in the app and your recipes will be converted automatically.
Import to Pluck - available soon
Pluck's import feature is in development. Download Pluck on iOS or Android in the meantime - your Paprika recipes will transfer in one tap once import launches.
Why people switch from Paprika
Save recipes from social media
Paprika was built for food blogs. It can't extract recipes from Instagram Reels, TikTok cooking videos, or Facebook groups. Pluck handles all of these - just paste a link or share the post directly to Pluck.
AI that watches cooking videos
When a recipe is only shown in a cooking video, Paprika can't help. Pluck's multi-modal AI actually watches the video, listens to the narration, reads on-screen text, and constructs a complete written recipe - ingredients, quantities, and steps.
Modern AI-powered extraction
Paprika uses HTML scraping to find recipes on web pages - a method that hasn't changed in over a decade. When a page doesn't follow standard markup, extraction fails. Pluck uses AI to understand recipe content regardless of format - it works on messy pages, social posts, images, and videos alike.
