Best Recipe App for Android in 2026
Not every recipe app is available on Android. Mela and Pestle are Apple-only. But the Android list in 2026 is stronger than it was a year ago: most of the serious recipe apps now import from social media, and several of them read the video’s audio, not just the caption.
Here’s our ranking of the best recipe apps for Android, based on each app’s Play Store listing, help docs and release notes as of October 2026. Pluck is our app, so we’ve written down the criteria and the gaps alongside the ranking.
How we ranked them
- Saving recipes from where you find them: food blogs, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, photos. And how much of a video the app reads.
- What you can do after saving: meal planning, grocery lists, cook mode, an assistant.
- Price and whether the Android app is maintained.

1. Pluck - Best for video recipes on Android
Share a TikTok cooking video, an Instagram Reel or photo carousel, a YouTube tutorial or a Facebook video to Pluck, and it reads the caption, listens to the audio and reads on-screen text from the video frames, then gives you a structured recipe with a confidence score to review before saving. Photos of cookbook pages and handwritten cards work too.
The AI cooking assistant (paid plans) is the other standout. It knows the recipe you’re making, so you can ask about substitutions, scaling or unit conversion and apply the change to the saved recipe. In cook mode it shows one step at a time with step timers, and you can ask about the step you’re on.
Pluck also has a weekly meal plan, which Fill my week can plan for you from your own saved recipes (Plus and Pro), and a grocery list that merges duplicate ingredients and sorts by aisle. For a household with mixed phones, the list is the part that matters: you can share it with up to 5 other people, free, each on their own account, and it stays in sync between Android and iPhone. The free “What can I cook?” search ranks your saved recipes by the ingredients you type, and a pantry scan reads them from a photo of your fridge instead (1 a month on the free plan). It imports your library from Paprika, Mela, Crouton or CopyMeThat, and the app is in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Swedish.
Best for: Anyone who saves most of their recipes from social video.
Limitations: No web or desktop app. The grocery list can be shared with up to 5 people, but the recipe box and meal plan can’t. No nutrition info and no grocery delivery. A smaller, newer app than ReciMe or Paprika.
Price: Free (3 extractions/mo, 10 recipes, no assistant), Light $2.99/mo, Plus $6.99/mo, Pro $11.99/mo or $499.99 lifetime.
2. Honeydew - Best all-in-one for households
Honeydew imports TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels and uses the video’s audio transcript. After import it has the widest set of extras here: an AI assistant chat, an AI meal planner, nutrition, a photo-based pantry mode (per its release notes), and household sharing for up to six people, in 11 languages.
Best for: Families who want a shared, AI-assisted kitchen app.
Limitations: Photo and social imports need Honeydew Plus. It doesn’t say whether it reads on-screen text.
Price: Free tier, Plus $6.99/mo or $39.99/year.

3. Deglaze - Strong video extraction, plus a web app
Deglaze is no longer iOS-only: it’s on Android, and since May 2026 on the web. Its own blog says it combines caption, audio and on-screen text read frame by frame for videos up to 10 minutes, which is close to Pluck’s approach. It has a meal planner with calendar sync, an aisle-sorted grocery list with delivery, multi-recipe cooking sessions and household sharing. There’s no AI assistant.
Best for: Cooks who want strong video import and a web app.
Limitations: No assistant to ask while cooking; no nutrition yet.
Price: Free (5 imports a week, per Deglaze), Pro $49.99/year.

4. ReciMe - The big, mature option
ReciMe is one of the largest recipe apps on Android (1M+ downloads on Google Play). It imports from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest, reading the caption, then the audio, then searching for the creator’s website. It handles photos, screenshots and handwritten recipes, and has a weekly meal plan, a grocery list with delivery ordering and shared collections, plus a web app.
Best for: Cooks who want a polished, widely used app with a web version.
Limitations: No evidence it reads on-screen text from videos; an AI chat assistant isn’t confirmed.
Price: Free (5 imports a week), ReciMe Plus about $39.99/year in the US.

5. Flavorish - Best for food-blog volume
Flavorish imports from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube caption-first; if the caption has no recipe, its AI writes a suggested one. Photo import is strong (handwritten recipes, cookbooks, menus), and the free tier has unlimited web imports. It has a weekly meal plan, shared grocery lists, nutrition and offline use. English only.
Limitations: Mostly reads what’s written, so spoken-only amounts may be missed. No chat assistant.
Price: Free tier, Premium $4.99/mo or $49.99/year.

6. Recipe Keeper - Best one-time purchase
Recipe Keeper imports from hundreds of recipe websites, scans photos and PDFs with OCR, and has imported from Instagram and TikTok since late 2024. It has a meal planner, aisle-grouped shopping lists, nutrition and family sharing through one shared account, on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac. No AI.
Price: Free with a recipe cap, one-time Pro upgrade ($19.99 on iOS; check the Play Store for your local price).

7. Paprika 3 - Reliable, but quiet on Android
Paprika has been around since 2010. Paprika 3 is a dependable web clipper with meal planning, grocery lists and a pantry, for $4.99 one-time on Android. It has no AI and no social import, and the Android app was last updated in August 2025. Paprika 4 entered open beta in September 2026 with photo scanning and social import; premium features will move to a subscription.
Price: $4.99 one-time on Android.

What happened to Yummly and Allrecipes?
Yummly was shut down by Whirlpool in December 2024; yummly.com now redirects to KitchenAid’s recipe site. If you’re looking for a replacement, see our Yummly alternative page.
Allrecipes discontinued its recipe app around 2023. In September 2026 its owner, People Inc., launched MyRecipes on Android and iOS, with recipes from Allrecipes and its sister brands. The free tier saves from thousands of websites; Instagram and TikTok saving is part of MyRecipes+ ($6.99/mo or $39.99/year). It’s too new for us to rank.
Apple-only apps
Mela (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and Pestle (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, Vision) have no Android version. Both parse social captions on device. Mela comparison | Pestle comparison.
The bottom line
On Android in 2026, Pluck, Honeydew, Deglaze, ReciMe and Flavorish all use AI to import from social media. They differ in how much of a video they read and what they do after saving:
- Most of a video, plus an assistant in cook mode, from $2.99/mo: Pluck.
- Household sharing, nutrition and an AI assistant: Honeydew.
- Strong video import and a web app: Deglaze or ReciMe.
- No subscription: Recipe Keeper or Paprika 3.
